Constant Struggle May Cause Lille to lose their Position as Ligue 1 Leader

April 17, 2021by Samuel Salimon

It’s yet another disaster-class from Lille as they drop two points against Montpellier yesterday in their title race.

Late goal from Luiz Araujo canceled out Andy Delort early opener for Montpellier.

Presently, Lille leads at the top of the table with 70 points while PSG trailed behind them with 66 point with a game at hand.

PSG on the other hand will host Saint-Etienne tomorrow in a game that could take them a point closer to Lille if they win.

Monaco likewise are not far behind as they trail with 65 point and a game in hand against Bordeaux that could leave them 2 point off the top spot if they win. As well as Lyon who are currently on 64 points and has a game against Nantes away tomorrow.

It’s a very tight one and no team will at this point beat their chest to win the league. With too many favorite and great team players, every team could be its own downfall if they lose of draw any game.
